Ginger hit the media headlines nationally and internationally in 2010 when she was abandoned in Weymouth and was seen on c.c.t.v. being left, and then trying to follow the car as it went, in spite of limping badly.
She was taken to a local vet, were she was found to have such long toe nails that they were growing into her feet. She was collected by the local Dog Warden Service, from Weymouth and Portland Borough council.
The Echo newspaper ran her story, and put the c.c.t.v. footage on their web site. This was then picked up by national news papers, (even making the front page of some! Must have been a quiet news day.) The t.v. companies sent out their camera crews to run her story which then, thanks to internet coverage went global.
We had the pleasure of caring for Ginger till we re-homed her in January 2011, and we are able to keep in touch with Ginger and her new owner .
Ginger came to visit us on 15th September 2011 here is a link to the article in the Echo.
